"I am and still getting thru a horrible experience. Dan and Paula - particularly Paula embraced my situation as her own. They have both been a huge help moving forward to the next step putting the past behind me. There's a whole lot more to this conspiracy and mess that was forced upon me and not of my doing. But here's a little snap shot of my situation. My stepfather breached numerous verbal commitments 45 days after his life partner of 40+ years, my mother passed away. They argued incessantly she was apparently gambling away all their money. She despised him as he had put her thru hell with a lawsuit based on his ego which destroyed her health. Her quality of life was horrible. That ultimately ended in her death. She had not filed returns in NV for 2 previous years & 1 year Fed. Evidently kiting checks and spending 55-70k p/m gambling up until a few months before she passed. Rather than accept his failures, blamed me, foreclosed on my company, thru me, his step son out paid me for a little while and hung me with about 300k in taxes - IRS & FTB. Keep in mind 45 days after my mother died and served me papers on my birthday by someone working within my company secretly for him setting me up all along. He also had his first wife living with him within 60 days of my mother's death. Quickly remarried his first wife and for those of us like Dan & Paula that are dog lovers-he kept the dogs that I had given to my mom. Never saw them again. They're dead and gone now. He had been carrying on with this woman secretly for years. My mom always complained about him being on the phone with her and left me handwritten correspondence between them going back for years. Original cards, etc. A close personal business associate recommended Marc Rosenburg & Associates. Marc's a top notch West Coast CPA/Tax/Litigation firm. Marc went thru all "S" corp tax returns and found "personal stock basis" that was overlooked by the CPA firm who evidently was part of this conspiracy. That wiped out the 1st 60 days of "S" corp owed in taxes 11' and a little of 10'. I sold my income commercial property to stay afloat, pay loans to friends and hopefully start a new business. There were no liens on this property as it was held in an out of state LLC I owned. So Marc recommended Dan and Paula. Does anyone really think the IRS cares about a conspiracy? Nope! They just want to get paid. Yeah, maybe if I prove it in court than people may go to jail, be disbarred and loose CPA licenses. But that doesn't solve my problem. So Dan and Paula kept me focused on the ball. From the sale of the commercial property IRS wanted to get paid full amount. So this forced us to pull OIC offer. Paid IRS about 16k to submit that. Dan and Paula went back to negotiation table. Fortunately during negotiation process this prevents accounts from being siege-cleared out etc. Took a huge burden and stress off my shoulders. Paula and Dan were able to negotiate a one year reduced amount repayment plan that would increase in one year. This gave me some time to deal with some of my health issues. I had been under a lot of stress and work load so my body was giving out. Still more ahead but I'm alive! Just before the repayment agreement was scheduled to go up and since Paula got this submitted within the "one year window" they were able to go back to the negotiation table. Appeal Process as I recall. Paula and Dan knew more about IRS text book procedures than the personnel they initially dealt with. Long and short of it because of their persistence and knowledge they got the repayment plan we initially agreed to "the first year at the reduced amount in stone" - does not go up. Unless of course I hit the Lotto 😄 Also note that same CPA firm (looking out for my stepfather's best interest) also overlooked closing costs of a home I purchased. Long time friend and CPA, Ken Sorseson new personal CPA found that which reduced the taxes on the sale of commercial property. Lucky to find great professionals! "I was referred to Dan Randall and Paula Mills through an initial referral by a business colleague and personal friend to a top West Coast CPA/Tax/Litigation Attorney Firm about a year or so ago. That firm did an excellent job. Dan and Paula have been excellent. Lived up to their reputation. They negotiated on my behalf about a year ago, reasonable and cost effective repayment program which was scheduled to increase a couple of months ago. That increase would have been financially difficult or impossible for me to meet. We started early enough - I was running behind and they were able to negotiate a repayment plan that is now based on the first years plan. This should allow me some breathing room to start my new business and be in the good graces tax wise I had previously been. There's a ton of scam mail and services out there who are constantly soliciting. Ignore them. Contact these folks and save your hard earned money they are very reasonable. Down to earth, Dan's a CPA/Tax Attorney, Paula CPA, both retired IRS. Their years of experience are invaluable. As a returning customer I was invoiced at very reasonable rates and they were easy to communicate with."
